"Serving as an introduction to Glasgow quintet CoPilot Effect, the three tracks on show here each bring something different to the fore, but each track suggests that the band have an undeniable talent for crafting exciting, uplifting and most importantly, memorable songs. “Russian Dolls” opens the sampler, with the verses starting off quite restrained before giving way to the epic chorus section and finale which brings to mind a heavier and more concise version of Sigur Ros.
The violin and drums take centre stage in “D11”, which utilises a quiet/loud approach and features an impressive vocal delivery that is perfectly suited to the track. The only downside is that the song finishes so suddenly after just over 2 minutes when you’re left longing for more.
The final track on the sampler “Slow It Down” is the most immediate track of the three, and perhaps the most accessible track for a first-time listener. The song contains a memorable chorus and some interesting guitar work while the violin in the background complements it nicely, and ensures that the sampler ends on a high note.
The three tracks on display here each have a stirring, uplifting quality to them, and suggest that CoPilot Effect are a band that you should definitely keep an eye out for after this very impressive debut.

"I move on now to an extremely experimental band who delivered their first ever real gig (ever) on this very night. CoPilot Effect is their name and I am more than positive they will be gigging A LOT more and picking up MANY fans. Their blend of natural, harmonic and Indie sounds and a variety of instruments (violin and synth included) sells them as an extremely talented band. I have been shouting about them ever since. For more people reading to understand their direction, they have some Sigur Ros influences. Their song "Russian Dolls" is celestial. A must see, must hear act. "
"Tonight's support CoPilot Effect are a group possessed by a skewered pop sensibility combined with an inclination towards outbursts of feedback that could force a smile from even the most sullen Mary-Chainer's coupon.
With individual band member's professing love for a wide range of music, from Hanson to Dinosaur Jr, with common ground provided by abstract Icelanders Sigur Ros, something deliciously different is about to be unleashed.
They don't disappoint, creating a luscious indie rock sound with intricate vocal harmonies bringing to mind The Arcade Fire and REM. The violin sings and cuts through their pop cloud, while twin lead vocalist Steve offers up his heart and soul. Only to be interrupted by the spoken word grunge styling of No Wave guitar man Olly.
The two vocalists providing a contrast of styles, in keeping with the bands eclectic taste, a hard act to pigeon hole, a welcome bane for lazy hacks."
